Das Triest is a luxury hotel in the heart of Vienna, about 5 minutes from the State Opera, 10 minutes from St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and 5 minutes from the "Naschmarkt" market area and the Mariahilfer Straße (shopping street). Designed by the famous interior architect Sir Terence Conran, Das Triest is considered to be the masterpiece of hotel design in Austria. Guests from around the world have come to treasure the unmistakable exclusivity expressed in every detail of the hotel's furnishings and interior design which, taken together, create a unique atmosphere of intimacy and individuality. With the opening of the hotel in 1995, Vienna finally had its own hip and modern hotel - a sharp contrast to the city's charming, late 19th-century Art Nouveau architecture. The former coach station and horse stable on the route from Vienna to Trieste, also known as the “City of Trieste”, was renovated and converted into a unique and contemporary 5-star hotel. The old cross-vaulted rooms, which give the building a distinctive flair, were transformed into lounges, suites and meeting rooms. Das Triest is a perfect example of the symbiosis of history and modern design, offering travellers premium quality and exceptional, personal service.
