In the Warmoestraat you can find Himalaya, since 9 years an unique New Age shop with a cosy atmosphere. People call the place: "An oasis of peace in a busy town". Himalaya has a large collection of American and Dutch spiritual books, also books with subjects like Buddhism, Tesla or Shamanism. And lots of New Age cd's (over 1000 titles). In this shop you can buy for example incense, gems/chrystals, windchimes, rainsticks, jewellery, piramids, Tibetan singing bowls and many different articles from India. |
| Himalaya gives Tarot-and Numerology-consults as well. Above the counter you can see beautiful painted-glass windows with the sun, moon, stars and clouds. In the shop is a teahouse/gallery, where you can sit down, relax, drink a cup of tea or coffee and have lunch or just a little snack. The teahouse serves biological/vegetarian food. You can eat pie, soup, or a roll with salad and there is a great choice of cakes. From here you have a view on the canal and the Damrak, there is an entrance/exit at this side too. |
