A bit of South America can be tasted in the heart of Amsterdam, near the well known
shopping-street Leidsestraat. At Iguazu's, on the Prinsengracht, one can eat Argentinian meat
and typical Brasilian dishes. The modern atmospehere is relaxed, most of the times
accentuated by the bossa nova musiqe. But sometimes latin musicians
take care of pleasant live music. "We give our own personal touch to our
restaurant," propieter Gustavo explains. He and Amarillo welcome the guests.
The food is as traditional as it can be. A good example is 'Feijoada', the famous national Brasilian dish with black beans and different kinds of meat. Iguazu also offers a wide range of fish-meals. All meat and fish are grilled. Besides, Iguazu serves an respectable amount of salads, like melon with shrimps, ewe-cheese and roquefort. The starters are Argentinan and Brazilian.
Every week, Iguazu offers a surprise menu, of the card.
And the restaurant is fammous for its cocktails, like caipirinha, made of cachala.
or traditional margaritas. Prices are average.
It is also possible to order take away meals, although they will not be delivered.
Iguazu also provides catering-food for groups.
