Explore a gigantic VOC ship from the
days of seafaring heroes and pirates
Watch the gun being fired,
the crew taking their meals on board and loading the ship's cargo.
Then wander through the centuries-old Admiralty storehouse
and see the famous collection of old ships models, charts
and paintings. Find out about the Dutch trading ventures and
voyages of discovery, about Amsterdam in the golden age,
the Dutch East India Company (VOC), distant countries, unusual
cultures, the mercantile spirit and the colonies.
At this museum Holland's seafaring past really comes to life.
Opening hours :
Tuesday -- Saturday 10 am -- 5 pm.
Sunday and Holiday's 12 am -- 5 pm.
From mid June until mid September also on Monday from 10 am -- 5 pm.
Closed on Queensday and january 1.
