Keepin' it real... ;-)|
My wife and I actually had a long talk over dinner about
this matter. Although I strive to be a kind Bear, occaisionally
and inexplicably I feel the need to get on my "high horse"
and be unbelievably abrasive.
No, I don't like the artwork. I have on rare occaisions
seen better stuff by locals for sale in the 'Dam. Thats my other
beef, its my guess that the work is not by a local and was painted
by someone with only a cursory knowledge of the Netherlands.
I knew my comments were going to offend when I posted them
and I should have toned them down. My wife and I agreed that
if I'm thinking, "boy, this is going to piss people off",
then maybe its better if I give some more thought to what I'm
writing. I really don't seek to make enemies of anyone on this
First, I totally agree that everyone is entitled to their own tastes in all things; tolerance. I just took some offense to the way you stated your opinion. I have been trying to buy a particular picture from Mr, Stock since he first asked me where I took a certian picture in Amsterdam. The response has always been "they are only for sale at my gallery". I therefor felt that his was not a commercial plug. Second, was that comment about using one's "usual" name on the board directed at me? If so why?
