Outrageous airfares part II.....|
I am a woman who is also scared of flying, and although I have no human kids, I have neurotic guilt issues about leaving my beloved pets behind when I travel.......BUT the ONLY thing I regret about my 3 (soon to be 4!) annual trips to Amsterdam is that I waited until I was 36 to start going. I find that a trip to my doctor for Xanax cures the airplane fears ("what airplane?....ZZZZZZZZZ"), and I can always obsessively call/email my "babysitters" to check up on my "kids". Go GO GO!!!!!! On my 30th birthday I decided to take a pre-party nap and ended up sleeping through my own party. How lame is THAT! Don't be like me. As for Amsterdam, what's not to like? The smoke, the canals, the nice people and beautiful buildings...everything that everyone else has mentioned. And the weather should be lovely at that time. In addition, I found that my first trip to Amsterdam really broadened my horizons in a way that I didn't know to expect. Experiencing another culture changed my entire perspective on my own life back here in the US and really made me so much more aware of the way that all we humans combine to keep this planet chugging along. The beautiful diversity of our One Human Race and all that. Clumsily worded I know, maybe someone else can explain it better than me. Suffice to say I feel like travelling across the pond made me wiser in a big way. Plus It's FUN FUN FUN!
