Amsterdam Knowledge Base
Hello BOhannon and Happy Koninginnedag to you, Puffin13,
Dogbreath, and all the others. I'll never forget my first Queen's
Day and my brain will never be the same. I spoke with my Amsterdam
friend yestday and I'm dying to go, now you may have given me
an excuse to ask the other half for permission for June. It's
been very hard being away for so long. I swear someday I'll go
and neglect to come back to rural Tennessee with the nazi-like-patrols
chasing marijuana plants and anyone having anything to do with
it. Let's hear it for the Queen!
Otis, really really really missing Queen's Day.
Happy Koninginnedag to all! Last year, on this day, we were in Utrecht trying to get a train to Ams. I thought the first train was too crowded so we waited for the next one. Then the same thing happened with the next one. Finally, my boyfriend said we were getting on the third one, no matter what. So we got on this sardine packed train, I mean standing room only, body against body, tight! Right after they got the doors closed, the conductor said that we wouldn't be going anywhere. They decided that no more trains would be going to Amsterdam from there. We spent a most wonderful Koninginnedag right in Utrecht! Although we finally got to Amsterdam in November last year, I still hear how it was my fault that we didn't get to do Queen's Day in the Dam. We are so looking forward to our trip over in July!Jeanbean
