Easter week in Amsterdam?

I will be there 4/18 for a week. Is this a busy time in Amsterdam? Do many people take holiday that week?
Yes, Easter is very popular holiday time for people of Netherlands and other countires. So the city is full of people, and the hotel reservations should bie booked well in advance. Most of the shops are open through Easter.
Easter is 4/20. How cool is that? Merits a special kind of Easter bonnet.
Yes some things are open but I was there over easter in 2000 and it was very quiet on Easter Sunday. The hotels were booked solid and don't forget the holidays in Europe are true holidays.
I would expect that the museums and such would be closed...but please say that the coffeeshops are still open???????
Yes, most of the coffeeshops, bars, restaurants, and nightclubs will be open. But things like stores, banks, museums, and the like will be closed not only on Sunday, but on Monday as well as Easter is a two day holiday in the Netherlands.
Yes, the coffee shops are open on Easter.
