Get over it
I've been reading the posts and it's pretty obvious. The same shit goes round and round concerning the Iraq situation.
Ideally, the basic universal law concerning people getting along with one another is if there's a problem, look each other in the eye, talk it out, reason, then shake hands. The question then is if the partys involved are honorable.
We all know Bush's TV talks to America were not totally pure. So why the pitter patter? People in office are going to do what they want to do. Not that getting rid of a shithead like Saddam was a totally bad idea, just the way it was done. Right now, after all that, we're still not sure that prick is dead after going through the initial and ongoing costs of the war.
It's been said lots of times. Don't bitch if you didn't vote. I voted, though not Republican nor Democrat for this last presidential election. Both parties have too much corruption for me. So my advice is simple for any democratic country. If you don't like them, vote them out. But most importantly, seek to improve your quality of life. Don't let the political bull dull your mind with what's really important. It's comforting to see that you have so much faith in democracy.
A bit difficult, when you didn't even vote them in. There is no perfect system, but concerning democracy in the U.S., who's happy with everything? If you don't like the political platform at least you're free to try to build others. I see nothing wrong with that.
Maybe the people trying to move to our country feel that way too. In US, to win you have to have enormous economic support. These contributions if given in any other country than USA, would be called corruption. So trying to make your on system, based on a good policy and a good idea, doesn't stand a chance. Unless you are willing to sacrifice everything to get contributions. And then you are back to basic. With politicians that sacrifice the good idea to get elected. I agree that the current power is making things difficult for other parties to establish themselves. Like proposing the recent FCC changes on communications ownership here. Before that, the Republicans and the Democrats raised the voter count numbers for other fledgling parties in order to get Federal matching funds. Hey guess what, the Green parties numbers were high enough to get some funds.
Listen, corruption is all over the planet in some form politically where there stands a chance for some money to be made.
Here's a thought, maybe SARS is retribution from Mother Nature for killing her children. We never had the right and never will to wipe out entire species.
Deep down, we all know what's right as long we get the info presented to us without lies.
