$370 From Nashville to Amsterdam RT

This is the best I've found yet, but I'm not going until March 04. Do you think this will be available in Jan. 04 (would the ticket be cheaper or more expensive?) , Trekkn?
I don't really know. I have no experience with Nashville. I think it will get cheaper from NY which is where I can fly out of as an alternative to FL.

SOME airlines will refund you the difference in a voucher if the fare drops once you have purchased. No help if it drops on a different airline.
I'm sorry, the flight is:

Nashville---->NYC---->Amsterdam

Is it cheaper to buy tickets well in advance or a few days before one leaves?
Generally speaking, it is better to buy your ticket well in advance. $370 is a good fare from Nashville, I think.

Where in Nashville are you? I grew up there but now live in the ATL.

Peace.
I would disagree with the 'well' in that statement. If you're going in March you should start looking December-January. If you jump the gun you're liable to missout on some fare sales.
I have paid the following for tickets always purchased within 2 months of the trip: (double if you include the wife)
Nov 2000: $450 ($350 r/t to london where we stayed 3 days from jfk $100 from london to ams) on AA
Feb 2001: $350 nonstop jfk to ams on KLM
Sep 2001: $100 ($450 r/t minus $350 travel voucher given for problems on Nov 2000 flight) AA flt w/stop at heathrow
Feb 2002: $292 nonstop jfk to ams on KLM
July 2002: $760 nonstop jfk to ewr on Continental
Jan 2003: $400ish nonstop jfk to ewr on Continental
Aug 2003: $830 (plus 40,000 frequent flyer miles) for nonstop BusinessFirst ewr to ams on Continental

As you may have noticed my last 3 flights have been on Continental out of Newark, and that's the way I'm gonna do it always. If you're gonna travel to Europe a lot you should make it work for you and get some frequent flyer benefits. (the roundtrip mileage from EWR to AMS is >7000, so just 3 trips will entitle you to a one way one class upgrade and believe me it's worth it.)

I'm from the Bellevue area, now I live in Murfreesboro. It's much quieter than Nashville. I get a lot more done if you know what I mean, plus I knew too many dealers in that area and had to get away from that. If you're from Nashville you'll understand.
Delta has a sale for a couple more days that is around $400 from Atlanta to Amsterdam which is nice because it is nonstop
