How to Smoke Hash
Well, finially registered, been to amsterdam 3 times goinh back in January. I really enjoy hash, but prefer not to mix it with weed, kinda want to get a feel for just the hash I guess, but I don't do tobacco, just too
harsh, but I did read about toasting your tobacco first and it taste better,
anyone try this?
So I always get a chillum every time and use it for hash only, is there a better pipe out there for hash.
i have the same problem. i will be looking for a small wooden pipe unless i think of something better. we can try it at the greenhouse (RLD) on the 17th...........i plan on walking from there straight over to catch the grey area opening at noon. see you there.
Sounds good, because we will go check in at that point, plus our hotel is right next to grey area, but Im now considering Rusland instead of Greenhouse so we can grab a bit to eat, what do you think
Does Rusland serve food, cause the apartment we're looking at is very near Rusland?
i picked up a small glass piece for 11 euro last summer at one of the shops on damrak. It was a spoon-like piece so it served the purpose well, just make sure the hole in the bowl isn't too huge or else you'll have to throw huge slabs of hash in there.
You can also get a pipe at the Rokerij leidseplein for pretty cheap. Rusland only has shakes and toasties (which rule).
Toasties and Falafel were definitely a highlight for me last trip. Especially the Ham and Pinnapple toastie. So any coffeeshop that has toasties would be a stop for me. That is as long as theyre not a shitty shop.
Rusland is close to the top of my list now.

If you want to toast the tobacco, the taste will be the same. For me it was. I tried them both ways and it didn't make any difference to me. I know that Viking will say something else, but I rolled 2 joints last time, one toasted and one plain. Lit them both up and one drag after another off of each tasted the same.
Werner has a site that you can look at if you'd like to roll a toasted tobac joint. I hope someone else here has a link to his site. If not, then I will email Viking for it.
Try some on top of weed.
Vaporize it.
Kif pipes can be found at head shops. Good for both hash and kif.

it doesn't matter to me smutdog, my hotel is close to either rusland or greenhouse RLD, if your flight is late i will be at the grey area at 12:30 forsure.
Nobody has mentioned my favorite method, hash under glass. A paperclip or safetypin and a drinking glass is all that's needed. It works very well for me.

Yeah, I agree it still tastes like ole shitty tobacco.... YUCK!!! It takes away from the taste of the hash IMHO.
Although I did persuade viking into smoking more than a few hash with weed joints while we were hangin out ;)

Well I normally rate everything I purchase alone, then on the second go
it's time to mix match that hash with grass. So I will stick to the pipe
and forget about toasting, I just don't want a tobacco taste but it would be nice if you could roll up some good hash with a benign non tasting smoking medium, Hmmmmm There's an idea?

My flight lands @ 8:00 so I figure we will hit the hotel via cab by 10:00.
We my be able to check in then or leave our bags to come back later.
Either way I think Rusland will be less crowded, and we can grab a bite.
But if we miss each other, I will also be at grey area @ around 12:00-1:00
because If im right we will have to go back to the hotel at 12:00 to check in and Grey Area is around the block

smutdog is the 17th.......the 16th is stemsnseeds and brandx and somebody else i think. time is approaching fast. i have everybodies e-mail address and will send out a time/location/day e-mail sometime right after jan. 1st
i favor a glass bowl for hash...homegrown fantaseeds had a small chunk of glass to use as a sort of screen, so you could smoke small amounts in the bowl to maximize flavor. or gee, you could just put in a regular screen. just clean it periodically. happy hasjing!

Another cool method is to smoosh the hash between two hot butterknives and suck in the smoke.
Or just light it, blow it out and hold it up to your face like Bob Geldof in the Wall.

Man, O man, wish I was back in Christiania burning a huge
Christiania-style joint filled with yummy Super Super Maroc right now!
When you click on the link about toasting tobacco on that page, he
talks about using the foil method first. I have never seen anyone in
Christiania toast tobacco this way. Everybody, including me, uses the
second method where you repeatedly toast a ciggie over a flame,
remembering that you MUST blow out hard through the ciggie between
flame applications. The smoke that comes out when you do this
is NASTY.
Seouleast, sometimes I get too lazy to toast the tobacco and just
roll it in untoasted. As to taste, I guess it tastes pretty much the
same either way, although toasting it does make it a bit drier and
it seems to roll and burn better when you mix it with hash.
Smutdog, if you don't want to mix your hash with tobacco or weed, and you still want to roll joints, you can mix it with something called
Koningskaar or Koningsklaar. It is an herb of the genus Valeria (I think) which can be purchased at Jacob Hooy & Co., Kloveniersburgwal 12.

I've been trying to search and get the exact spelling for this stuff,
but haven't had any luck. I just point at the wooden barrel they keep the stuff in at Jacob Hooy's. Anyway, I often buy a little bag of it
and use it as a mixer for hash joints in case someone wants to share
one without tobacco or weed. From what I've read about it, it was once
used as a medicinal herb to HELP with lung ailments. It is just about
as innocuous as a filler can be; almost like smoking nothing (except
the hash.) And it make people stare or ask questions when you start
rolling with it:)
That said, I also buy a cheap little wooden pipe to use with pure hash
hits, especially the darker hashes which don't mix as well.
And, yes, BlueBerry, you did indeed persuade me to use weed
rather than tobacco when mixing. Happy to oblige!
Man o' man that black sticky, oozing black hash. I almost didn't know what to do with it till I remebered B-Doc's rolling method. Roll it like dough into spaghetti like strings, then place on top of the hash. Worked very well for me. I tried to put it in a pipe and it just dissappeared into the tube, then into my mouth! Ahhhhhhhhh! Man, it was hot!
Be careful with that black stuff!

lightly heat up the end of a chunk of hash with your lighter. Then rub it between your thumb and fore finger. Small flakes of hash will fall off. Put them in a bowl and smoke them it burns evenly and you are just smoking hash nothing else.
I took chunks of temple ball purchased at Willie Wortels in Haarlem, rolled them into about 4 or 5 1½ inch "strings" and placed them in a cone of super skunk so that there would always be at least one burning. The result was the best stone that me and my 3 m8s had during an entire trip!
