Ocean's twelve comes to Amsterdam.
Today George Clooney and Matt Damon arrived at the Amstel hotel in Amsterdam.
They?re in Amsterdam for a few weeks for filming scenes for the movie Ocean?s twelve.
Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts are a few of the actors who haven?t arrived yet, but are expected in town soon.
Two locations where they will be filming are Herengracht, where they are redecorating a canal house at this time, and neighbours are a bit mad at the city council who gave the movie production a permit to cut down a tree by the canal so they can set up all their equipment.
The second location will be the Heiligeweg and Handboogstraat, specifically coffeeshop De Dampkring.

I?m not sure about dates yet, but May 6 is said to be the date when they will start filming.
Maybe it?s fun to try watching them filming at the Heiligeweg with the Koningsplein webcam

According to the script they will be in Amsterdam to steal the first ever stock certificate in a company, the Dutch East Indies Company aka V.O.C. from a private collector at his Herengracht house.

Thats cool. When I lived in a small town in Southern Indiana(Huntingburg) They came to town to film "A League Of Their Own" Geena Davis and Madonna were in town along with Rosie Mcdonald and Tom Hanks. It was neat to see such big stars in a small town.
They're there right now, and appearantly they're going to shoot in De Dampkring too... I heard Brad Pitt is a pretty frequent visitor of that place, and he has a house in Amsterdam...
Just walked past the house on the Herengracht where they are filming - it's the area of Herengracht that crosses the Vijzelstraat.....
No sign of any of the cast, but this is where all the action will be next few days at least....

A guy on another forum just met Matt Damon shopping in the Spuistraat... and they went out on the Leidseplein a couple of days ago.
I'm going to try to see something friday.

Yeah there all celebs there all the time. When I was in Amsterdam in November I was staying at the Grand Hotel and I saw Justin Timberfag there walking around.
Just returned from 2 weeks in Amsterdam and enjoyed best Queen's Day ever! Also, stumbled across the filming of Oceans Twelve several times. They were filming in a canal house on the Keisergracht. The church across the canal was the make up area, and I figured out the chauffered Jaguar's coming and going all the time were ferrying the "talent" around. Got a got peek at Brad Pitt in the back of the car, just sitting there reading.
The next day they set up filming outside the apartment we had rented at the corner of the Keisergracht and Hartenstraat. We had a birds eye view of the whole filming of the day, and got to see Brad and George quite a bit. Have lot's of photos. We were sort of prisoners in our apartment since the building was in the shot. The film guys told us we could stay and watch out the windows, but that when they yelled "action" we had to step back from the window and duck down out of view.
It was a thrill to watch all this and witness the incredible intricacies of making a movie like this. Seemed to be hundreds of people involved, etc. The scene they were filming was in front of the Pulitzer Hotel, on the Keisergracht side. Brad and George got out of a cab, and then did something with a tour bus. There were a number of scenes filmed.
They also filmed inside the Pulitzer. A large crowd of fans and papparazi formed outside the Pulitzer, especially after the green Jaguar arrived (everyone had figured out this was one of the cars used for Brad, etc). Soon the crowd was very large and they moved the car caravan to the Prinsengracht side of the hotel. Most people then assumed they would be leaving from the front of the hotel and so everyone moved to the other side to watch and wait. The cars waited on a bridge over the Prinsengracht. After hours, the cars started to move, everyone was set to take photos, etc, but instead the cars raced back to the Keisergracht side. Everyone chased and there was an almost frightening thundering herd of people. I missed it but was told that Brad and George dashed out of a side door and into the car and were whisked away. There were pro photographers there with enormous telephoto lenses, etc. so assume some of them got close up photos.
All in all it was an exciting time. Also heard the talk of George Clooney and Brad Pitt smoking in the coffeeshops and at Dampring. Someone I know pretty well at TwedeKamer told me very credibly that this was true. He however would now reveal much to me about the filming at Dampring (sister shop of TwedeKamer) and was obviously sworn to secrecy.

They took over the front part, put Clooney, Pitt, and Damon in the far corner, and the rest of the people formed a semi-circle around them. The dealers were paying a lot of attention to them, and the amount of smoke coming from that corner was impressive. After about 30 minutes, they all left. I asked one of the dealers what they were smoking, and with a bit of a wink, the answer was... "Who?"

I just left de Dampkring 15 minutes ago, and they were there again... same people as the night before. On my watch right now it says 12:11AM in bright numbers.

"Hunks Brad Pitt and George clooney have made a joint effort to beef up their security while filming in Amsterdam - to stop doped-up fans bothering them in the street.
The heart-throbs are shielded by minders whenever they are away from the Ocean's 12 set in Dutch capital, where cannabis is smoked legally.
Heavies were drafted in after fellow actor Matt Damon, 33, had a run in with two scousers high on super-strong skunk.
Matt was strolling round the city with his girlfriend Lucina Bozan when they were accosted.
A source on the set said "The lads were out of their heads.
They stopped to ask directions and got a bit aggresive when he couldn't point them the right way. They didn't know they were speaking to one of the biggest stars in showbiz. Matt told George and Brad - now minders accompany them at all times."
Ironically, one scene in the film will show Brad, 40 and George, 43 in a "coffee shop", where grass is smoked."

I stood around on the bridge at Herengracht today for several hours and didn't see anything good. The big overhead light over the canal broke around 11pm. But, it still is exciting!
