Flying out on Thursday, staying at The Brouwer for 3 nights...

To UK Bag Lady... I'm going to introduce her to something alright... how thin are the walls???

LOL!! I take it then that you won't be in,the Hals or the Mesdag room, the two singles?Hey, if you're up in the Escher it will be fine as this room is right at the top of the building with only one neighbour! O how I do envy you, please let us know how the trip goes.
And please give Hera a pat for me please!

My dilemma...

Having recently returned from Amsterdam, I am faced with making a decision regarding a return trip. The woman I have been seeing lately has a long weekend available in October and wants to go to Amsterdam to see the museums. I already have reservations at a hotel, made months ago, to coincide with my birthday on the possibility that I would be able to spend it in Amsterdam.
I have FF miles available, and the flights are available too, so very little expense there to speak of. The hotel is The Brouwer, and reasonably priced, under $100E including breakfast for a double which we'll split (gotta love it...) so 3 nights comes to around $150E. $30E for bud, and $100E for dining, and I'm at $280E ($340USD) for a 3 night weekend in Amsterdam...

Would you do it???
Without question! Any time/money spent in mokum is worth it. Enjoy!

Well if you're staying at my all time favourite hotel the answer HAS to be GO FOR IT!!
I'm just back from my annual two weeks at the Brouwer and I always recommend the hotel to anyone I know coming here but you have already discovered it so well done to you.
It sounds like a great opportunity to introduce a friend to this fantastic city!

:-)
I know being in the UK is a bit different to being in the US but if I could afford it I'd go for anything from 1 night to 4/5 nights a month so my answer is HELL YEAH!!!

...Boner...
huh? i'm sorry, i thought you just asked whether you should take the opportunity to come to amsterdam again. i must be deaf.

of COURSE silly. get over here.

I know that bringing home (USA) buds or skuff is suicide. But what about space cake and chocolates. Can dogs detect the thc inside the edibles and or has anyone ever brought any high food items back home with them?
I am definately not bringing anything back with me for a few reasons. Most importantly, while I am a US Citizen w/ US Passport, i am brown skinned and born in Pakistan, so there is a possibility they might search me just for the hell of it. I may just be too paranoid, but i dont want to risk it. But, what i DO want to do is mail some hash back for myself. I was just wondering what the best way to do that is and where i can go to have that done (i dont want to go to any post office or anything govt related or that has cameras in there). I heard its better to put a few grams inside of like a birthday card or something. Cuz i heard packages like CDs and stuff, they open, but usually a letter or card will get through. I am taking plenty or funds with me to Amsterdam so if i could find a place that i could do this at, i would be willing to mail a few different letters or packages with a few grams in each one. If anyone has done this before and could give me some advice, that would be great.

Sorry, i forgot to log in, but that last message by Guest was me. Just wondering about best way to mail hash back.

Scroll down the Coffeeshop board to the "best mailin' hash" thread. There's lots of information there.
I wonder if sending it FedEx overnight or the equivalent would prevent arbitrary opening (assuming they don't detect it first)??? Personally I wouldn't risk mailing shit to myself.
The only reason i am going to do that is because you cant get in trouble on the receiving end of the hash. As long as i dont put my name and a correct return address, if it does get caught, i heard customs sends u a letter saying they seized your package and a number to call. If u dont call the number, nothing happens. Cuz someone that hates you could mail you some hash from Amsterdam to get u in trouble so they dont bust people for it. But it's all good, i will check out that other post abt mailing hash. Thanks.
