Volcano Users....??

Hey man, get all these parts and days and events straight, ya know?

I really enjoyed that one and now I remember that boat ride and yes the warm sun in our faces on a perfect day. Funny how a little prod really brings back those memories. And now I had nearly forgotten that roust of the houseboat and it's contents...rude but kind of funny given the details and I'm sure the inhabitants may have laughed and giggled at it, I hope so.

Didn't we see the skinny bridge and the 7 bridges lined up?

Someone next to me kept passing me bowls of hash...I can't remember but I think I was sandwiched between Dapanther the animal-smoker and Last Hamlet, the baseball roller. I was in trouble then and had some smokin' to do.

Ja, great boat ride!

Otis
That boat ride was the best. We were blessed by the good weather. If it had rained we would have been drenched. No where to hide. I must have taken 100 pictures in 2 hours.
what happened to part three?

more hasj!

great stuff boop

WOOT!
holy crap, right you are, lmoo Major editing coming up
Part four:

The weather continued to be fantastic (as it would be for the entire trip!). Porkchop, Bev, Moe, Catobsession and I arrived at the Rookies around noon for the ?Bud Warz?. My job as ?moderator? or whatever was to make sure that it was a fair and truly ?blind? test. To that end we took five pieces of paper, numbered (obviously) 1-5 and I placed a bud of each sample on the papers. I was the only person who knew which was which. I won?t go into too many details here as this was OHD?s event so he should tell the tale. Some of our ?rollers? and judges opted not to show so we did the best that we could on the rolling and enlisted Stems and Seeds as an alternate judge. When all was said and done I revealed the winner to be?Moe?s Cali bud with the 4077 as a close second. It was a fun event and as a Cali grower myself, I felt pride in Moe?s win.

By the time this was done more people had gathered for the boat ride. It became obvious that the number of participants would be significantly lower than the 40 or so who had signed up. As it turned out this was fine as we only had to use the big boat and we could all be together. I have been on several boat rides but this was far and away the very best. The warm sun on our faces was an unexpected bonus. It seemed that everyone had a great time and saw Amsterdam from a unique perspective. Much weed was smoked but everyone behaved, well until we stopped near a Channelites huisboat and made a bit too much noise for the neighbors, lol.
I'll keep enjoying your reports BO, no matter what order they come out in! :)
Bo failed to mention that he asked me to be a judge early that morning with the condition that I do not smoke anything before the budwar. A cleansing if you will so I would be a better judge. So I sacrificed part of my vacation so I could judge. It was a very long 30 minutes. It was rough I know but in the end...well I was not a judge. That's fine. I had either Moe's cookies or a space brownie before the contest - I can't recall. No one ever said I could not eat before judging.

The buds were great. I too liked Moe's entry and entry #5. Despite all the smoking and previous eating I was given the task of adding up the individual scores. I hope someone other then Bo checked my math! (Where is part 3?)

The boat ride was incredible. Great weather, great people, great hasj. It was unbelievable.

Cat
I will finish part three and this hash yesterday!

Pa
What??? No mention of meeting your buddy Rocco?
So much for making a good impression.
Nice report there, brings back those great memories.

I noticed something - didn't Budwars and the boat ride happen on April 25th, after the Vapobag party and the big party? Or am I confused in a haze...?

Great Report, look forward to part 4.

C'mon, you know that will be in yesterday's part three! LOL

I was supposed to be a judge too, CO. It almost happened but I stocked up on things from the Albert Cuyptmarkt instead and made it on time for the boat ride. So many things, too lilttle time.
We judges really enjoyed it. I think I finally figured out what I want to be in life: An Amsterdam Bud-Wars judge. Can I use you all for references when I apply for a job testing? Gosh, being back here in the states is absolutely killing me.

Part four:

Thanks, I take pride in what I do. I wasn't expecting to win against those big juicy Dutch buds. I had very little space to pack uncompressed buds and wasn't sure I even had enough for a proper Dutch cone.

moe.
Sounds like great fun boy did I miss out!

What gear was judged in the bud wars?
Besides the GA-4077
The other 3 enties were Sensi Star supplied by Chris-a Channelite, Vermeer's White Widow and a "mystery bud" supplied by FlyByNite.

moe.
I hate I arrived only in time to see the champion announced.
There were only roaches left, but the crowd seem decisive on the winner!!! Congrats Moe, on a very fine victory.
Many Best Regards,
LH
The Pirate, you are resurfaced! Why did you not turn up at the party?

Shall we have Bas check your IP address to see if you are someone else masquerading as The Pirate?
Are you guys out there? I was suppose to meet Amsterlocal on my last trip. Are you guys still on this planet!
They eloped and are now living in Copenhagen.
Yeah, I was hoping to meet up with Griffster this trip to talk cars...
When you going over next Delta?
When you going over next Delta?
Oooooh... sadly, prolly not for quite a while. Next time I'm in Europe, which will probably be well over a year unless I win the lottery, I'd like to stay for a couple of weeks in Italy and make Amsterdam a two or three day thing.

I bet its a real shit living on the other side of the pond,

40 min flight as apposed to 10 hour flight.
Anyone using one of these on regular basis??

I just bought one in an effort to kick the demon cigarettes.....it sure as hell works, really kicks ass if you have a little too much.

Can anyone offer any hints/tips/suggestions on getting the best use out of my machine??

Thanks in advance........
Hiya Mark,

Congratulations on your Volcano! I have vaporizer envy. You may want to check out this thread from earlier. LaTristesseDurera just bought a Volcano and there's a good link in this thread to another thread in Overgrow.com that discusses how best to use it.

alot depends on how fresh the gear is. the instrucions say to grind the gear before hand, i put the a small intact bud in and set the temp around 6, sometimes 5 depending on the gear, that bag is for taste, then i grind the gear (you can get two bags if you want simply increse the temp slightly) and vap again at the same temp. once more ate one temp setting higher and then you usually can get one more bag. i have gotten up to 7 bags from 1/3 gram. (as little as 1/10 of a gram will produce 3 or 4 bags)

also try a slightly smaller bag, reynolds makes a good cooking bag that makes no noise as it fills up.

higher temps are not always best and you don't want yellowish or dark grey vapor.

you will also find you have to clean the parts after heavy use and of course, change the bag.

i pretty much have quit smoking myself.
Patrick, that's the type of information I was looking for - thanks very much.

I've been vapping at between 5 and 6 on the temp scale - you feel this is the best Patrick??
I suppose the amount of bags you can get depends on the THC content of the weed.

Santoka - excellent links, thank-you.
i start at 5 or 6 and proceed upward. friends of mine only use 6 or 7 for 3 bags. they say any gear vaped around 8-9 is too harsh. i almost always finish it at 8-9 just to besure i am getting all i can out of the product. others insist on grinding the gear before the first bag.

you are correct the more thc in the gear the better the vapor, i do find that the fresher the product the better the first bag.

i have also found recently that if you shave small amounts of soft hash into the chamber and vaporize at 8 or 9, you can get several (6 or7) bags of light vapor.

Doesnt the hash muck up your screen and stuff?
BTW my own method with the vapo lies somewhere between patricks and the guy who made the overgrow chart....
it does muck up the screen so i tend to only vap the hash when its close to cleaning time. i only have access to a small amount anyway. i have tried putting it on top of some gear but i prefer the straight taste.
