Camping in August

For some reason I can't log on, so I'll have to post here...

Mrs Woody wants a holiday. I fancy a week camping in Wales, but she's vetoed Wales (She's scotch, so you'd think there'd be more Celtic solidarity wouldn't you?), but has conceded on camping, so long as it's sur le continent.
I love camping (so cheap!), and it seems too good a chance not to combine it with a trip to the Dam (and other pretty bits of Holland) but I don't know anyone who's used the sites around Amsterdam. I've found some websites, but I'd rather have recommendations from Channelites who have eshewed the decadent luxuries of the Dam's hotels for the healthy pleasures of a few nights under canvas.

Please share, otherwise it's Normandy. Again.
The Zeeburg Campground at Amsterdam is a good, inexpensive place to sleep and store your stuff. And it's just a 5-minute walk to a tram stop where you can catch a tram right down into the heart of the Centrum in about 10 or 15 more minutes.
The campground has hot showers, a restaurant and small store, rental bicycles and other features. There's a natural wetlands park and a really nice swimming pool right by the tram stop (in Flevopark).
It's not exactly wilderness, but it's a nice campground.
Please share, otherwise it's Normandy. Again.

I can't personally recommend any camping sites ( haven't been camping since I was a Girl Guide) but there are several sites in the accommodation section

:-)
Thanks for the replies, anyone tried the site in the Amsterdam Bos?
