KLM Airlines

What do you all think of KLM? I already booked my flight, so there will be no changing. I'm on a 777 out of NYC. Just curious.
You'll be fine. You just paid a lot. LOL!

Dag
TAK
KLM is my second most favorite airline, after Jet Blue.

Its the airline to fly on if your going to the Netherlands, hands down my personal choice.

The seating is a bit better than others I've flown on and the food was a bit better too.

Dutch airline staff are a welcome sight as well.
Depending on where you live in the NY area, you might also want to consider Continental direct flights out of Newark/Liberty airport. There are two flights a day and the airport is easier to get into and out of than the other NY airports. Also, Continental offers personalized movies, games, etc to every passenger where the monitor is on each seat--much like first class on other airlines. The airfares are generally the same as KLM/Northwest. At any rate, having flown from the NYC area over 20 times to Amsterdam on various airlines at various airports that is MHO.

Enjoy,
Santa Marta
KLM has a direct flight from IAD to AMS once a day. The new Airbus planes have more leg room than any other econo class flight I've ever used. I'm 6' 1". Nice Dutch crews too. SAS is using the same planes on transatlantic flights. Food on both is better than US flag carriers.
I fly mostly KLM or NWA. Sometimes one, other times the other. I didn't realise they were so different, but the reviews sure were. I'll try to be more specific on getting KLM next time. I like KLM/NWA for many reasons, better service and food among them. And listening to them speak Dutch reminds me what I'll be hearing very shortly. Their flight times out of Las Vegas are better(for me), too, and if I choose to fly out of LAX, they are the only carriers that do non-stop. Now I have lots of frequent flier miles, too.
When flying to Amsterdam, KLM is the only way to go IMHO.

Service is better than any of the American carriers, they still give you a meal and the beer and wine is Free!

Not only that, as soon as you step on the plane and hear the crew speaking Dutch, it is almost as if you have gotten to your destination a bit sooner.

Never had a problem with KLM flying to AMS.
I just did a quick check and from the cities of my destination, the equipment on the same flight times, but different flight #'s are the exact same, so no difference in that area. In other words, if I leave at nine, and I have a choice between KLM or NWA, the aircraft type will be the same. Unless they book both flight #'s for both KLM and NWA on to the same aircraft, and people who booked KLM specifically are on the same plane as those that booked NWA specifically. But the planes are marked either NWA or KLM.??????
Maybe I'll figure it out after a few more bags.
It couldn't hurt.
The plane is a KLM plane. NWA just operates KLM's North American division. As far as I understand at least. I encountered that as well when booking my flight. I could book through klm, or nwa, and they were offering identical flights. Also, I made sure i booked klm with a Boeing 777. From my research, these planes have monitors in every seat in the plane. Including economy
class.

KLM = Air France = Sucks! but they all do! In this case it is "the DESTINATION not the journey" LOL

I very much like the late departure they have from the Dam, 7:30PM. this makes the departure day a bit more of a fun day. One thing I like on Continental is their games.

When's the last time you flew KLM Bo?

What do you base your opinion on? A general statement or do you really feel other carriers are better?

Oh I see you say they all do, so this opinion really isn't worth much, is it?

Ahhh my little pet, the point and value of my comment is that one should not bother much looking for a "nice flight". Intubation sucks, all airlines pretty much suck in the same way. I have heard nice things about Singapour air and I had a very nice experience on Virgin (not "a" virgin, dammit) once. But really there is little difference. I last flew KLM in April 2005 and having ammassed half a million ff miles on a dozen or so carriers during a corporate stint...I do think I know a thing or two. My last flight was business class on USA, still sucked. Is my opinion worth anything to anyone? Who cares. My overall point is to get the cheapest flight, bring your own food, drink only water and lots of it, sleep as much as possible and get to Amsterdam as quickly as possible, nuff said!

Used United the first trip, then went with KLM the past 3, (damn, i been that much?)so far they remain the lowest price outta Chicago Ohare. (When I go anyways)
Theres a site I joined a while back called E Rewards, they send these little surveys, all u need to do it open it to be paid .50, i know thats not alot, but I did it for a year, did some of the surveys (which are short) and last night I picked up 2,000 miles on my NW/KLM world perks account.
I say every little bit helps trying to get that free RT Ticket.
Inhaling Deep for those that can't-

Having problems with the "as quickly as possible" part but good advice overall.

KLM was a big improvement over the budget carrier I flew on 2 years ago.
Thaniks, "quickly as possible" just means that any direct flight is better than any connecting flight on a "nice" carrier.

The coffee on KLM is out of this world! Last time I flew KLM, I said to the stewardess when I got on,"It's good to be back in the Netherlands." She said, but we're not there yet. I said, yes we are.

Fly any international carrier in and out of the US if you can. Service is much better.
