Kif / Skuff / Mist Crystals from grinders

To answer the original question - This 420 means nothing to anybody here in Amsterdam. You will only ever hear Americans talking about it. I eventually asked some American kids once why that time was of such interest to them? Thye explained a similar story to that which I have just read from alink here. I think you will find 98% of Dutch folk would not have a clue what you were talking about it, somehwat unlike Queens Day which is a traditional celebration for all.

Remember there is more to our country than just weed smoking!

Yea m8!! i love the nederlands, culture totaly different to here (U.K) lol but we do have some things in comon thou.
A few years ago my daughter was still in college and I was visiting her in New Hampshire. We always antique when I visit. So we are in a store and she finds a sign that says, 420 High st.........I had never heard of it before and she expained it. So I said "Honey when you get tired of the sign could you leave it to your old Mom?"

As Always,

Do any special events take place or is just a time when the city and coffeeshops are very busy? I understand the Channels, ACD and EDIT forums are having meet ups and CS crawls.

I know Queensday is the big party in town but just wondering if 4/20 was especially worth going for?
If you have to choose between 4/20 and Queensday, go with Queensday. On Queensday everyone parties. On 4/20 only stoners party.
Well it certainly is a big event. It is the kickoff festivities for the next couple weeks. Lots of interesting things begin to happen after that day. It is likened to a ritual event. We come from all over the WORLD. And have a great time actually SEEING one another instead of typing to one another. Also alot come from far away and plan on a couple weeks in Europe so 4/20 spills over to Queens day.

WOOT!
If you can afford it, go for 2 weeks and hit both.

Queensday is to be missed! At least once.

420 is all about "Stoners", and being a stoner I sincerely hope to make it happen next year.

Given the choice of the two, I'd pick Queensday.
everyone turns out the lights and puts a lampshade on their head and then dances like it's 1979.
yeah riiiiight.

Yes queens day!! go if you can make it m8 as it suppose to be a good vibe,i just missed out on queensday by a couple of days the last time i was over!! pitty thou cos i was told i missed a good time by the smokers & owners in the coffeeshops.
can someone please explain what 4/20 is??
is it a term for gettin stoned? please help cheers
OK, here's what really happens:

At 4:19 people in Amsterdam scurry about looking for the ultimate location to partoke of this righteous moment. At 4:20 precisely there is a huge vacuum created by thousands of lighters being lit at once. The lack of oxygen creates an euphoria unknown in many parts of the world. At 4:21 you can see a cloud of smoke appear above the city and float towards the heavens. No aircraft is allowed to pass over the city for the next 20 minutes as the cloud has been klnown to induced spontaneous whiteys. At 4:30 the lines to Febo are extremely long.

It is quite an awesome experience.
I've heard that the real story on 420 is that some kids used to get together to smoke after classes at that time. Evidently, it's LAPD radio code for nothing whatsoever. Who knows, really?

Are crystal catchers worth it?

I.e if you grind up 1g in a normal grinder and put it all into a spliff you have a 1g joint; If you do the same in a crystal catcher it will retain the crystals, have a slightly less than 1g joint which is missing the potent crystals.

Is it worth having 10 joints with less crystals and 1 with pure crystals, or just having 11 joints with some crystals?
yes
Hey bungle,
I have a grinder/cystal catcher.....they are good.

You won't notice any difference in the strength of a 1g joint broken by a grinder or by hand........my guess is you probably lose more crytal matter breaking the herb up by hand.

I like to leave the bottom tray in my grinder to build up a nice layer of crystals over a couple of months or so and then hand press this into small flat pieces for smoking in pipe.
You have to keep the screen nice and clean though or it will clog and stop the crystal falling through.
Indeed Kif Catching Grinders are worth it!

You get what you pay for.

Check out Baba Souvenir Shop on Warmoestraat for some decent deals on Kif catchers.
thanks, i think I'll be investing in one soon. I've always enjoyed rolling spliffs and breaking my weed by hand but I realise I must lose a lot of crystals this way....a crystal catcher it is then. Looks like you can't go far wrong with a Space Case
