Clubwear

Kind of left it too the last minute but anyone know of anywhere in the centre where i can get decent clubwear nothing too OTT just tops and accessories

Thanks
If a club won't let you in because of your clothes; run away. I went to Ministry of Sound once and it sucked big time.

Hey Louise, I usually just buy my tops and stuff at the H&M. But for more excentric things you can try some of the stands on the Waterlooplein, and some shops in the Kalverstraat sell tops with lots of colour as well. Good luck and have fun.
Excentriek becomes eccentric in Engels, Anne.

I like C & A for accessories, Louise. Got a black knit top at a very reasonable price at HEMA last year.
Thanks for the correction, Crayon. : )
Geen probleem, we need you to monitor our Nederlands, so we don't stray and start to spell in Duits : p

random Sorry there, just went off on a tangent. I like clubs, I just hate to see kids worrying about fitting in and all. I'll shut up now.
Are the clubs pretty casual for the most part? Are people turned away for wearing things like non-collared shirts, jeans, sneakers?

Try the shops down Nieuwendijk.
The clubs are casual. Some are more trendy than others, but most clubs really don't care about what you wear.

Sergeant Crayon, eh. I completely missed that promotion to Sgt!

Thanks for that info Anne.I,ve only been to 1 club in Amsterdam-Escape and that seems to be the rule.I personally prefer the big parties(Qlimax,In Qontrol, etc)since there,s zero chance of me being turned away which i hear is a common problem in Amsterdam clubs, was told to stay away from Jimmy woo,s for that reason.

I was turned away not in Amsterdam but in Paris a few times for reasons of not having a girl with me or being alone.

I prefer places where people go to party and have fun over ones where you go in only if your cool. There are no door policy clubs at all in Hawaii, they just want your money here .We can use more places that have techno though, especially the darker styles like the Q- dance parties in Holland
Agreed. Jimmy Woo is a very trendy place, so people go there to see and be seen, and the door policy is strict on clothing and appearance. It's rubbish, I only go to places where no one's bothered by what I'm wearing, seeing I don't care what other people wear either.

You can rant about anything you want, Thundarr, everyone does that on here.
Cool, I'm sure I be hitting a club or two in May. My wife really enjoys them. I'm down for the occasional club as well. If the DJ is good and I like the tunes.
