Zutphen

In the process of looking for a small, quiet town, I came across Zutphen. It sounds intersting and not too touristy.

Has anyone been there? Is it a good place to spend 4 nights?
That's true, I can't deny it. But it a lovely little town and the surrounding countryside is very different to that of the central and Northern NL

:-)

Four nights? Bloody hell I had had enough after four hours, each to his own though...

My recommendation would be Zwolle
My only negative observation about Valkenburg is that it is very touristy indeed - the destination given the proximity of Monschau and Maastricht, of many long weeked British coach tour operators
No, never been to Zutphen but why not take the train down to ? It's a lovely little town in rolling countryside and with many attractions.

And Maastricht is just a short trainride further on. And Monschau is quite near too but I think you could easily spend 4 days in Valkenburg and not see it all ~ I have, many times

:-)
