In English: Besides the problems in the practical execution of a members administration of the weedpass, it has been practically made impossible by two motions that have been filed in the Eerste Kamer (house of senators) last week, both of them in connection with the evaluation of the Law on Protection of Personal Data. Both motions, by Franken (CDA) and Tan (PvdA) have been accepted of 10 political parties during the reunion on May 24. Franken requested the government to impliment 5 criteria in the decision. Tan requested a proposal for a law on identity management.Exit Weedpass.

could you please explain this further
sounds a bit like clutching at straws really.
There's more against the weedpass.

Justice Minister Opstelten referred to the (approved) verdict of the European Court. Just so you know, the court ruled that the residence criteria are against the EU Constitution, but they can be executed temporarily against the molest by drugtourism, for the period the molest exists. This is not exactly an mandate to nationally apply a pass or card with a local function.

Residence criteria: This makes excluding foreigners from coffeeshops possible, but it needs a change in the Local Police Law, Maastricht did that.
The majority of the Maastricht City Council wants to reverse this change, so the wietpas can not fly.

I can imagine the media do not yet see the consequences of the two motions filed for the not yet introduced wietpas.
The motions were filed to keep the government from registering people's medical file in a central database, and the data of travelleers in public transport, both will not fly, the Dutch government can not guarantee the security around these data. Same for the registration of the members of Weedclubs, so the Weedpass can not be issued by the government, nor can they stash the data. i am not going to issue weedpasses, nor will my colleagues...

like the Data Protection Act....
