Canal Cruises & High Latitudes...

The last 2 times we were in A'dam, we went on the wine &
cheese cruise. It was great, you board while it's still light
outside and return when it's dark and lasts about 2 hours. First
time we went with a bunch of relatives, the second time just
the two of us (very romantic). I would highly recommend it.

Agree. Dinner or not, the best time for a cruise (in my ipinion) is after dinner hour when the hot sun is low, the warm colors and the whole town is out of work-a-day mode and everyone is kicking back. And remember that Amsterdam is at a fairly high latitude, so night comes late in mid summer (10 pm or later in July), with those extra long twilight hours congruent with high latitudes.Life doesn't get any better than a pleasant summer evening in Amsterdam sitting out on a canal-side cafe table sipping beer, sampling the herbs and watching the world go by.:-)
