Nearby countries you can drive to?

Can anybody tell me about countries/cities I can drive to
for a day from AMS? I'd like to visit a few places other than
NL while I'm in the area. Thanks

If your goal is to see a little bit from a couple of countries then I suggest you first drive to the southern province of Limburg from where you can reach three or even four countries within one day. You could enter Belgium from there and then find your way to Luxemburg. With a little effort you could even take a small detour through France before heading north again, only this time through Germany. I have done this a couple of times myself and the area is rather interesting because it is hilly (the Ardennes) and there are some historical places you could visit. A lot of battles were fought here during WWII. This way you could have breakfast in Holland, lunch in Luxemburg, dinner in Germany and still be home before dark!
