Best western bastion really worse western bastion
Stinks of cigarretes as soon you came inside the hotel.. Awful. they could not find our reservation and when said that the guy at the desk said but there are lots of other hotels around.. I could not believe what i heard. also we booked a non smoking room because they could not find our booking. The window did not have the key so we had to sleep with the window open, after 2 days.. We had it sorted after asking job this lovely attendant. also the van next day says u have to book we tried and could not get the first one.. The second van an american tourist late for his flight wanted us to move so he could go. No way the hotel has to provide the bus sitting outside called the ass. Manager but she was rude and just what a waste of time. the only person helpful was job a guy that lived in usa, he was dutch and very polite. the breakfast absolutely.. Lets say my pets eat better. i would not recommend it

The facilities in this hotel are not good. The lobby is one of the ugliest I have ever seen in any hotel in over 30 countries that I have been to (it is an ugly stone floor). The rooms are not much better, though at least they do have a carpet. The rooms are small and clean. Be particularly careful of the hotel shuttle bus - it typically leaves a bit earlier than scheduled, and it DOES NOT WAIT AT ITS DESIGNATED LOCATION at the airport. Be careful - the hotel's shuttle bus is small, and typically stops about 50-75 metres up the road from its designated stop location. If you do not know this, tough luck. I stood there one night for over an hour, and called the hotel a couple of times to ask where the bus was, and all they said was "its coming." It came all right - came and went, and I never saw it stopping 75 meters away. The driver did not even bother to look to see if anyone was standing under the designated shuttle stop for the Best Western. In general, that was the attitude of the staff. If you need to stay at the Amsterdam airport, definitely do not stay at this hotel if you can avoid it (stay at the Sheraton).

From the moment I entered the hotel till the last hours that I left I saw the staff at this hotel have disputes about their reservations with customers, every single time they made it seem like it was the customers fault. And when the manager was called, he behaved exactly like his subordinates. During one very big dispute he basically told the customer to go ahead and report him, it did not matter. You can also forget about getting any beverages or food in a hurry, you need at least half a hour to hunt down someone to serve you (this is when its empty). I will NEVER ever go back to this hotel. Can you imagine being shouted at after a long tiresome journey?
