It is perfectly located and the staff is wonderful. As I am in Amsterdam for my birthday I have grown accustomed to being treated like family by the staff. It is a most comfortable place to lay one's head after a day of wandering Amsterdam! Review by jeanbean from USA  Lovely Hotel Just returned from 10 days at the NH Doelen (April 24 - May 4, 2006) A very nice hotel with a great breakfast, lift, wide stairs and a wonderful staff. I will stay again. Review by steve very good spot just home from my first trip to amsterdam, and wife and i stayed at the doelen. the room was large, clean, quiet, and perfectly located to get to everything on foot. other than a small mixup in my reservation, it was a great place at a fair price. i would not hesitate to stay again. Review by fallenbuddha still a nice place to lay your head returned to the doelen for 4 nights, got a great special rate. had a room up on the 5th floor, with an unbelievable view of almost all the skyline. the balcony we had made smoking weed much nicer i might add. the balmoral pub in the hotel was a nice place to wet my whistle with a very friendly staff. great location, was hungry at 3 am, was able to walk 5 mins to an open restaraunt. Review by tom & lily a great place to stay the dolen is a wonderful place to stay. it is in a great location and you seemed to be within 10 minutes of everthing. ask for a view of the river and you will not be disappointed. the rooms were very clean, but a little small, which seems to be the norm for amsterdam. the staff are freindly and helpful. the breakfast has a little bit everything and you will not go away hungry. we highy recommend the doelen. Review by smitty highly recommended the doelen is a wonderful place to stay. the hotel is charming and clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. it is well located with a view of the amstel river-- ask for a room facing the river. the breakfast is large and outstanding. the hotel bar is cozy and serves a great beer selection. it is not a deluxe hotel by any means, but it is an excellent value and we will always stay here when we go to amsterdam. Review by fallen_buddha a very nice place to lay your head well we ended up at the doelen to to a mistake in our reservations to another hotel, we had prepaid, and the hotel was closed for renovation. basically we were out of place there, a bunch of hippies in a place like this. we were treated just as well as the normal people, the breakfast was fabulous, great selection of food. if i could afford it i would always stay here, but i is a poor hippie, who truly enjoyed being in a civilized place. thank you tulip hotels for messing up. |
