Average visitor rating (7.5 /10 )Write a review ![]() Bad service at the restaurant It is sad to see an old historic restautant waisted by poor and unprofessional service. ![]() Dont bother!!!! I recently stayed here and have nothing good to say apart from the location. The room was tiny dirty and smelly. This was my 8th visit to amsterdam and this was by far the worst place i have stayed (the jolly carlton being a close second) if you have some extra cash stay at any of the nh hotels, you get much for for your money!!!!!! ![]() You can't judge a book by it's cover. Booked ahead through my travel agent for 2 nights. On arriving the building look fantastic, the entrance and lobby were 5 star, but after checking in and going to my room it was all down hill from there. My 1st room was just unacceptable, they gave me another one no problem, not much bigger than a closet, window looking out to a wall 2feet away, small single bed uncomfortable no bathtub just a shower stall, poor maid service. But hotel located great for sightseeing. Wouldn't go back for sure. ![]() Would stay again The first room we had would not be recommended (a view of a shaft of windows), but the standard was not bad. After asking for an upgraded we got an Amstel view (a lot better). ALL the staff were more than helpful and very friendly from the cleaners to the Reception. The situation is perfect for sightseeing. Would we stay there again? Yes,no problems. ![]() beware!!! i booked a double room for 2 nights through channels in dec 04. on arrival we were allocated our 'room'... it was around the corner, up a small street & was in fact a studio apartment, complete with seating area & kitchenette (microwave, fridge, cooker etc.). sounds great?? well, no... the room itself was awful - very ugly, slightly damp with really old furniture & decoration. could be worse i thought. well it got worse - the heating didn't work, so when i complained, they sent a guy around with a little plug-in electric heater!!! like that was gonna work. when i complained, i was told that all the hotel rooms were full & that we could move to the hotel in the morning. that was after a sleepless night in a cold, damp room, on a sagging matress & because we were on the ground floor, all i could hear all night was the sound of people comimg & going from the nightclub & bars on the street. when we finally moved to the hotel, the room was a lot better, but really not anything special. apart from the location, this hotel has very little to recomend. ![]() great location nice clean hotel situated on the amstel close to bars, shops etc. rooms a bit on the plain side but perfectly acceptable for our recent weekend break. good breakfast. having read earlier reviews, my wife and i had to try the scrambled eggs!! no problem with them, but the bacon was a bit greasy. ended up there as our original hotel cocked up our booking. upgraded to eden at their expense. would go back. ![]() i will come back , small single room , clean, full bath, not bad at all i came in july 2004, spent 5 nights. small single room but cleaned daily and full bath and a/c. super location to all of the dam. trams right in back. smoke shops all around area 5 for sure. the one on amstel at the corner of roken a small black hole in the wall and you had to go down stairs to buy your smoke - very good smoke. i'll be back soon bv. ![]() good hotel as others said although the hotel lacked character it was a good place to stay. i will stay there again. great location. breakfast was good and the the room were maintained every day. overall a good experience. ![]() great for the price my wife and i just stayed the last seven nights at this hotel.we payed 600 us on expedia and got a room with a queen bed, electronic mini-safe,tv with pay movies and a decent size bathroom with a bath/shower.the room was medium sized and actually bigger(though not nicer) than the room we got at the american hotel on our last visit but for a much smaller price.the location was great,it seemed like we could get just about anywhere we wanted withen 10 minutes walk and there were tons of places to eat and drink(and smoke!) that were less than 5 minutes walk.overall i would have no problem staying at the eden again if it were for the same price, the room was clean and comfortable and the lobby was inviting to hang out in. ![]() if not happy speak up! we stayed at hotel for my 40th first room offered not good, but after visit to reception given better. still better to shop for prices on the net got better deal than with hotel direct. dont be fobbed off ![]() not impressed! when i first arrived at the hotel at 11pm at night with my my best friend. we were given the keys to what looked like a very basic, airless twin room with a window view of another brick wall. we actually complained and got our room changed after more money exchanged hands (rip-off!!!). i will be visiting adam in october...i will not be staying there ever again!!!! ![]() overpriced the hotel was overpriced - small rooms there was bad maintenain, the toilet was nice with a bathtop but there was at smell of piss when we arrived, no tissues, after flushing the toilet it was impossibel to have a conversation for teh next 5 minutes because of the noise. room was next to elevator and it´s hard to sleep when you hear elevator going up and down - all day and night. the only good thing was the location of the hotel. will sure go to amsredam again - but never stay at that hotel again. ![]() bad experience have just returned from staying here and will never return to this hotel. i found it to be overpriced for a hotel with such small, basic rooms and i found the staff to be cold and unhelpful. also, the scrambled eggs at breakfast should come with a health warning!! ![]() romantic view of amstel and munt tower stayed here twice in may before and after my trip to paris. the view from our room was overlooking the amstel river and the munt tower which set a fabulous mood of romance for my wife and i. the staff was excellent very friendly and polite. the reception desk helped us acquire tickets for boom chicago comedy show(highly recommended). room was large by urban standards, well decorated and cleaned daily. hotel concierge was helpful, and disposed of my pipe for me when the taxi arrived to take us to the airport. i will definetley consider this hotel for my next visit since i visit regularly. ![]() brilliant location - great buffet breakfast - ensuite i would definately stay here again. the room was small but adequate with ensuite bathroom and room safe. i got a double room for 63,65 euro per night including breakfast and city tax as a special offer with holland-hotels.com, couldn't believe my luck really. saw the other hotels i had thought about booking while walking around but none even came close! oh and because it's on the vvv list the tour bus picked us up from the foyer! i'm hooked. ![]() good quality for the money good value hotel in an excellent location, far enough to be quiet and close enough to walk to all the attractions. breakfast was pretty good for dutch standards but the scrambled eggs are something to avoid. pity there is no tea and coffee in the rooms and the bar is a little pricey but overall a pretty good choice of hotel ![]() great location, beautiful apartment rooms & obnoxious reception a shame, as our apartment style suite was amazing, the location in amsterdam centrum can not be beat, and the price affordable... but the service of the receptionist is greatly lacking. they seem put out by the most simple requests and seem to have little to no knowledge of good restraunts, cafes or anything else a tourist might be interested in. would probably stay there again but crash on other hotels concierge for suggestions and advice. ![]() comfortable and secure excellent location by rembrantplein, plenty of action, good coffeeshop area, near tram. personable staff, very helpful, excellnt rooms, secure premesis, good bar and restaurant, parking across street at opera house basement. i will go there again. ![]() met expectations room was fine, in room safe and the breakfast was very good great coffee , over all not a bad location and but did lack character. ![]() Great once again Third stay in Eden and all was great. good clean room, and no problems. A sure bet. ![]() Eden Hotel Eden Hotel is located perfect, but the Hotel itself is mess. The room was ugly and small, the wall was dirty, the wallpaper lost the concetion to the wall. The restroom was ok, but the mirror was partly blind. The breakfast was ok, but not for a Hotel of such a category. I´ll never stay in that Hotel again. Better I spend a little more money and have good hotel as I spend a lot of money and stay at his hotel ![]() a great place, for me it is 4 stars hotel. nir gatenyo from israel next week it will be my 2nd. time in eden hotel. enymore saying is to much. i'm coming from israel with another 2 friends ![]() Eden Hotel Hotel is o.k but the staff are always to busy to help, sometimes even Rude!!!! Eden is situated close to all the right places and the rooms are spacious and clean. However they have just put their prices up making it a bit of a rip off!!!! ![]() A great place in the middle of it all!! A great hotel that is withing walking distance of everything in the city. Right in the middle on the waterlooplein it is a large hotel. Staff is friendly and rooms are large and clean. Good place to stay, I will be back. ![]() Perfect location Eden is located perfectly near the nightlife. The hotel was quite good on the whole (delicious breakfast), but that's something to expect at those prices. Somehow I wasn't so impressed by the atmosphere - hotel is huge so the staff is busy most of the time. Rooms, as well as the hotel itself, were nice and clean. Well, I would definitely go there again next time, if I only had enough money.. Vieze muren, viese vloerbedekking, kappote muren etc.. Super hotel. english comment: this is your worst nightmare hotel. Bed rooms, filthy and dirty... Never go to best western eden hotel bad bad bad ![]() A evité L hotel a des chambres mal entretenues.
