    The worst hotel beyond imagnation

    I have traveled to more than 10 countries and stayed at many different hotels in last several years. Hotel titus was absolutely the worst. The carpet probably has not been seriously cleaned for more than 10 years. Furniture is worse than those you can find from garbage places. Shampoo was not provided, and towels were only provided when asked. You can hardly sleep because you can hear any movement the people upstairs, and any noise when people open or shut the door. The hotel manager was not friendly. The whole feeling is that the owner tries to grab as much money as possible from misleading customers. you may be wondering why we booked this hotel. Well, my husband booked this hotel in hurry without reading any comments of the reviewers. When we saw the room, we decided to change the hotel immediately. However, we eventually didn't do so because we were required to pay a significant amount of penalty fees.

    They actually call this place a hotel-that's a joke and a half

    If you have a strong enough stomach to handle the stench of 100 year old urine and stank ass stale smoke- you will be fine! bring your sanitizer for sure, wouldn't trust going barefoot for a second- Go next door to the impala, for 10 extra euro it is fantastic and clean.

    Comfortable and in a good place

    I stayed in a double room with a friend of mine for a few days and it worked well. The staff was nice and friendly and the breakfast did its job. Considering the price, there was nothing to complain about. And the rooms weren't filthy, they were cleaned and the sheets were changed every day.

    the filthiest dirtiest hotel i have ever stayed dont go

    we booked this hotel well in advance as my husband runs the amsterdam marathon. we duly arrived on 15/10/2005 and payment was taken immediately,we were handed a key and we were then told the room was up four flights of steep stairs.we were not prepared for what met our eyes. the room was filthy along with the bathroom and stank of hash.the light switches the radiators the walls the seeping toilet that you had to put shoes on to enter the room was never cleaned in the four days we stayed and i had to clean the bathroom myself with limited materials, you may be wondering why we did not move the answer was everywhere was full due to the marathon so we had no choice.all i can say is if there is a goverment body that inspects the hotels they have missed this one or they are well bribed. this filthy hole that calls itself a hotel needs closing down.

    gone downhill more like downmounatin..

    i first discovered the hotel titus, by chance, about 6 years ago before the invention of bookings.nl and so on. three friends and i stayed there for a long weekend and it was a gem. the rooms were basic but clean and well maintained, the service was good and personal, the hotel was centrally located but we still had a balcony that looked over quiet canal. a real gem and good enough that we stayed in the same room (21) for the next four years. after a bit fo a break, i returned last june and what a transformation. i beleive the management had changed and the hotel had adopted all that is bad about hotels in amsterdam. - used the conversion to euros as an excuse to charge disgraceful rates for 1 one star hotel - the hotel had not been maintained with ripped sheets, holes in the plaster and radiators hanging off the walls - cleaners not even touching your room during the day - front desk staff inattentive this hotel used to be a gem and they've gone and spoilt it - why are some people so short sighted? they've lost my business and i used to recommend the place to 5 - 6 people a year. no more
