    Friendly, clean, reasonable

We stayed for two nights in november, 2009. the staff was extremely nice and helpfull. Centrally located but quiet. Good sized room with a view over a small canal. Loved the "hog" theme.

great value option-i would stay again

i stayed at the bridge hotel in late june 2004 for 2 nights. the hotel and rooms are very simple, but clean and efficient. the staff was very friendly and the breakfast was tasty. if you're looking for a cheap, but nice place to stay the bridge is a great choice. it's located on the east side of the amstel river a quick walk south of waterlooplein. we rented bikes and were able to get from the hotel to all locations around town without a problem.

    excellent location, service, and value!

i stayed here in march of 2004, and came away very impressed. the location of the hotel is beside the carre theatre on the amstel, one block from the famous magere brug, the 'skinny bridge,' and a few blocks from the waterlooplein and rembrandtplein. tram service from centraal on the #4 and #9. there are several very good coffeeshops nearby, along with some excellent restaurants and little bars of all types. the double room was very clean, came with a desk, table with chairs, ensuite bathroom, and a great view out of the 6 foot, fully opening windows of the nieuwe prinsengracht and amstel river. the price included a full breakfast daily, and all taxes! the front desk is staffed 24 hours a day, and they were wonderful! i highly recommend the bridge hotel!

well kept hotel and nice staff.

i was very pleased with this hotel. the location was ideal being very slightly removed from the maddening crowd and still close enough to meander home. the value was good with a very satisfying breakfast included. the coffee was exquisite. no problems whatsoever. the only complaint that i would make was that the walls were not thin enough as i could hear the moaning from the next room, but couldn't make out the dirty talk:) anywho, the room was perfect with a nice view of a small canal outside. if you only require simple amenities, this is the place. i will book here next time.

nice location great beds, staff, nice clean rooms

the far best place i stayed in amsterdam ever for the price and the best staff you could ask for. the pub down the street is a nice rest stop before retuning to the hotel, the staff at the pub is also great. stayed there jan 3-8, 2004

    wonderful and reasonably priced

stayed here in june 2002 with my family. we had great service rooms at the back with a view of a small canal very pleasent and very clean. staff were helpful with excellent eating recommendations (dont miss 'the flask brown cafe). within easy walking distance of everything (even with a 4 year old). we made it with all our bags on the train and subway from the airport as it is only 5 mins walk from the subway. if you need a clean non-hostel environment in amsterdam this is the place....

    Good Value

Good value for the price and a great location. Just spent 8 nights there. Was on the 'basement' level for a few nights then later the ground floor level. Basement level had linolimum floors, pre-fab celing and all the ambiance of a doctor's office. Rest of the stay was in a much nicer double room. By a'dam standard is it 3 stars but in reality it should be 2 stars. This is a good find as most hotels in a'dam are way over priced or in poor quality.

Very clean, friendly staff, near the center

We spend three nights at Bridge Hotel in November 1999. Although we stayed in the only available twin-bedded room at the ground floor with no view to Amstel river, it was very clean with plenty of space compared to other hotels in the city. The breakfast included everything and all the different faces in the reception were always friendly. The most convenient way to reach it from the central station is the metro, although we hesitated using it in the begining. The area although near all the interesting sites is rather quite and you may find some interesting places for dinner in the Utrechtstraat, just two block far. We highly recommend it. S&D

CLean, reasonably priced, easy access to tourist attractions, not recommended for handicapped.

Spent a total of three nights at the Bridge Hotel. Parts were being renovated but this did not interfere with our stay. The hotel is clean (however, if you like washclothes - bring your own). Breakfast was plentiful and typically dutch, with white and wheat bread, cracker bread, luncheon meats, cheeses, cereals, eggs, coffee, tea and juice. The hotel is in an older home and is not recommended for physically handicapped - to many stairs and little corners). It is however within walking distance of most tourist attractions and within a five minute walk to a canal boat stop. Personnel was helpful and friendly.
