    Burglary

On entering the hotel and being welcomed by the new member of staff, we could instantly tell that our choice of hotel was not great. What seemed to be the manager was training a young girl on her first day. We were then informed that there is no place to leave baggage in the hotel which wasnt great as we had 4 days worth of baggage. We were shown to our room which was basic and had a smell so bad we could hardly bare it coming from the bathroom. The room itself was small, basic, and in need of a very good clean. The sheets were stained and the window did not function correctly. We came back to the hotel to find the new receptionist had been left alone with no security, she then couldnt find our room key. When prompted by two suspisious looking youths that were hanging about in the entrance she found the key. On entering our room we discovered that all our belongings had been emptied out of our bags and many belongings were missing. The hotel were completely useless in the situation which ended up with myself and one of the other girls i was with, leaving the third girl in the room to protect our things, searching amsterdam, a city we had never been to before, late at night for a police station. Consequently we spent the whole night unable to rest in a smelly, hot hotel room, as we were too scared to open the window. The hotel took details but have never been in contact about the inccident since. my main advice is that if you want a safe and secure hotel room. Don't go to this one. Instead of the planned night out exploring what is a lovely city, we spent our time searching to solve a problem that should of never occured in the first place.

    Somewhere to sleep

The quentin arrive is in a great location, haarlemmermeerstraat. Not far from the train station and not far from all the action. The rld is a 5-10 min walk and there are coffeeshops across the street (pink floyds) and in the close vicinity (popeye's, pacasso's, barneys, bulldog etc. ) the hotel itself is nothing special, very basic infact. There is a maid service but i can't remember how often they come in the rooms. I have stayed here twice now and have been very happy with the accomodation, planning a third trip and most likely to be staying here again.

    Not great shakes...

Long narrow stairs, not fun if you are on the 4th floor. rooms extremely dirty, curtain hanging off, leaky sink dripping onto the floor, shower not great (on a different floor), lots of noise from other guests coming in late. good location (2 coffeeshops opposite) but not a lot else to be said about this place.

    Fire hazard?

The only redeeming quality of this hotel was its location. You could also sleep on the street and have a good location. It was dirty, staff was discourteous and incomptetent, no security, maitenance was basically none. There was exposed wiring, windows that wouldn't shut, no curtain to draw over the window, and a teeny tiny staircase that would have prevented escape in the event of a fire. The room looks nothing like the photo posted

    Hotel quentin arrive amsterdam

    No aconsejable
