clean and quiet
the owl hotel was great on our recent 4 night stay in feb. 2005. the room was extra clean, the bathroom spotless. breakfast was filling and the staff was very helpful everytime we had a question. the location was perfect for walking to museums and catching the tram. wonderful restaurants nearby. we would stay there again in a heartbeat.

quiet and off the beaten path
i had a pleaseant stay here in november 03. the staff is quite friendly. the rooms were clean, though small, as to be expected in amsterdam. the hotel is on a quiet side street behind the marriot. almost zero traffic, yet only a five minute walk or so to leidseplein. i did find reading in bed very uncomfortable.... built in headboard had sharp wooden edges. and the tv remote did not work. food was good... standard dutch style breakfast. i was woken one night by folks banging on the front door (which is ocked at night). and one evning i returned back to hotel late (for me) at 11 pm, and had to wait about while the desk clerk came back from goofing off somewhere. a nice place, but an 'average' value for the cost. i'd stay there again, but would prefer to stay somewhere else next time, a place perhaps a little less expensive and more ergonomically designed. :-) dogbreath

clean, friendly and at the right price
i stayed at the owl hotel in august of 2002, it was nice, clean and best of all had a hair dryer in the room. breakfast is included in the price, it was good and filling. great location and if you get a room at the top you get a wonderful view of vondel park. i am staying there again in april of 2004.
