Expensive rubbish meal in blakes bar

Today i took two business associates for lunch at the brooklands. The hotel looks very impressive so we decided to eat in blakes. After a long wait to get served as there was only one barmaid we were told that if we wanted a barnsley chop we would have to wait at least 45 minutes so we opted for the steak. When the food eventually arrived it consisted of a few really dark overcooked chips half a grilled tomato one mushroom and a smallish steak. The steak was average but one especially was really as tough as old boots and my very important associate finally gave up trying to chew it and had to leave it. I wanted to complain but he insisted that we should not make a scene and to put it down to experience. As we were leaving the lone barmaid who was now clearing tables asked if the meal was o. K. I took this opportunity to complain in a quiet civilised manner telling her the steak was like leather. She replied in a cheery manner oh i am sorry, order the barnsley chop next time you come, thats if you come again, then went merrily on about her business. We left the brooklands £50.00 lighter still hungry and vowed to tell everybody what a terrible meal we had. I have had better service and food at a little chef. If you want a good meal and good service try the old post office just down the road.

    Poor value for money

For the price charged, the service was that to be expected of an establishment charging half the price
