Average user rating ![]() Write a new review ![]() not as was--6/27/05 visit this was my fourth visit to holland casino and having first played there in '98 i've always looked forward to going back and enjoying myself. t first, the place seemed the same this visit: still an admission fee which is ridiculous of course, still pretty much the same layout and the same indifferent service that the dutch are so very good at providing. but the change is in the blackjack tables and the way the games are dealt. instead of a shoe, the cards are dealt from a machine and are immediately resinserted after each deal. the dealer's downcard is not dealt until the players' hands are done. at one table i counted twelve double down opportunities and every single one resulted in a low card and the dealer always getting a twenty or a twenty-one. sure, this could be a terrific streak of bad luck for the players (and for me too) but i went to other tables and saw similar situations. there certainly was the occasional doubling down that worked but the strange thing is there seemed to be more opportunites than normal to double down in the first place. also, the dealers at the tables seemed to get an abnormal amount of faceup cards below seven and yet coverted to a win an abnormal amount of the time. perhaps this will seem to the reader that i lost and am bitter and most surely should not waste anyone's time crying foul. but, true as it is that i'm bitter, no one seemed to win much at this place. and one joy of any casino is that there is a winner somewhere, hitting the jackpot, winning the longshot bet, bringing all the less lucky a little bit of fun. that was missing here. ![]() very dissapointed i have been to many casino's around the world. take this off your list of places to visit. a cover charge to enter a casino? that's not right. i got a free admission with my amsterdam pass, and decided to check it out. i am 45, dress well, and understand the european, and specifically the amsterdam culture as i have visited many times, and have friends there. i think i can speak intelligently about this place. very unfriendly people. not the norm for mokum. the gaming sucked, and after losing a couple of hundred euros, they were still unfriendly. i noticed a guy(security) watching myself and my 22 year old son the two hours we spent there. the eternal optimist in me kept wanting to give them another chance. they kept failing. if want real casino action, go to monte carlo, or when stateside, go to vegas or a.c. don't waste your valuable time at the holland casino, it makes a nice photo from the outside. ![]() not bad i went to the casino on march 30th and was suprised that they have changed it a little. they now have lower stakes tables and i even saw one as low a one euro. you can get in for free with one of those boom chicago flyers that are around town. i walked home 100 euro richer! ![]() you call this a casino? first of all, i've never payed an entrance fee in any casino i've ever been to in my life, except for the one in amsterdam. second, the tables were not cheap and i honestly felt like some games were rigged. i did get lucky and left with a 100 euros up only because i hit right away and left. i would never go back to that dump. you'd be better off betting online, which i have never done but would imagine is better than this place. no drinks, no ladies, an all around bad time : ( ![]() if you're a masochist you'll love this casino. first, you have to be clairvoyant to find the place because i found no street signs to guide me there. second, i never heard of paying an admission fee to enter a casino. third, talk about 'dutch treat,' they offer absolutely nothing for free (except those little packets to wash the fingers). fourth, they charged me a 'transaction fee' to withdraw money from my debit card to get the coins to play the slot machines. and lastly, they charged another 'transaction fee' to convert what was left of my 1/2 euro coins into paper euros. they should take a tip from las vegas and try to make gambling fun and less of a penance. ![]() classy classy ambiance. not the loud atmosphere found in las vegas. if you want a quiet place to play blackjack while sipping on a beverage (you must pay for your drinks here), then this is the place. the dealers are all very polished and professional, and very serious and businesslike. the blackjack games are all multiple decks and constant shuffle (machine), which make it difficult to spot a trend, but there are always an abundance of 10's in the deck. nice restaurant with quality fare on the menu. if you are looking for a break from the loud vegas atmosphere, then this is the place. if you like to laugh a lot and act boisterous, then go to vegas. ;-) ![]() well, you can lose your money as quick here as any casino i thought the only casino in amsterdam would be bigger with more opportunities for gaming. not so. the place was packed and there were no seats for black jack. roulette was painful. you couldn't get near the table and when you did, someone was pushing his/her way past you to place a bet. it was hot, even in march and on the whole, nothing like a spacious casino in los vegas or atlantic city. not a single crap table. bummer. they even charged an admission fee. never going back. ![]() watch what you play... was in amsterdam middle of september and went to the casino a few times, the roulette table is a joke, it was a 10 guilder min. however you could not split it up on different numbers, it had to be 10 guilders per number. play the roulette slots they are much more fun for your money, i won on them, plus you dont have other people pushing you around... ![]() we had fun my wife and i went several nights while we were in amsterdam, just for a little fun. one night was reserved for some serious gambling. one of the fun nights she dressed very, very hot. since she is an exceptionally fine looking blonde, she gave several of the normally serious local men (and tourists, too) severe whiplash when they saw her and did a double take. was she a pro? no? merde, i'd like one of those! quite a lot of fun. ![]() I like the place! I play slots and the main casino (not the one in the airport) has some gret machines that I have not seen in the states. It's not Las Vegas - it's Europe! ![]() happy guy thanx holland casino,i took 2000 us dollars on my trip, they allow all moves on their tables,i kicked their ass....thanksw again their inexperince shows... ![]() nice place and espacially for women I went there in august and it was free for women I don't know why. Anyway, I've been to Las Vegas and it's true that we can't compare holland casino in Amsterdam with Vegas but I like both because Amsterdam's casino is tipically european and it's not a place too big so it's more cute !! ![]() BRING ASUIT,AND NO HATS this place is just a little to serious for me ,i love to gamble anywhere but not in europe they think they are the true pros. all the dealers are not friendly, and the place is not that impressive, they need to take some tips from LAS VEGAS get into friendly gameing, and u will make more money,oh and the drinks are weak ![]() not vegas if your a tourist, make sure you dont have a t shirt or sneakers. They have a coat check in which if you dont have anything better than a tshirt , they will supply you with a vest. The atmosphere consists of very serious gamblers or they think they are because its the only casino with live games there. There is no laughter or smiles. Its not geared for tourists or entertainment for the average funlovin person. |
