    Great staff

My daughter and i stoped at the hotel last week, july 07,we found the hotel to be quite old and the rooms abit run down, but the staff were the best we have ever meet. They make the hotel. We were both taken ill outside bangkok and had to go into hospital, we were very worried, we phoned the hotel in the morning as we did not know what to do. The manager, mr feaver came to the hospital to meet us and bring us back to the hotel, it was a round trip of 6 hours, he brought us food and only charged us only 1000 baht for the petrol, that is what i call service, he also made sure we got everything we wanted a brought us back to the airport free of charge. If you give an award pls give it to him. The food was good and also the free tuk tuk, i will stop here again

    Worth it, but old

The hotel is old and the rooms a bit worn, the standard of service is normally good, but sometimes mistakes through lack of english, nice girl miss hua, works there as manager she works very hard and has great english. Breakfast is good but can be not so warm sometimes. A few leaks in the walls when it rained but only in stairways. I found all the staff friendly, even if sometimes there were mistakes becuase of the bad english. The hotel is very relaxing and close to khoa san road, they also have free tuk tuik to take you there

    Good price

I have read the review before i booked the hotel and wondered if it could be so good, the answer is yes and no, the manager jon feaver, is very special, i have dealt with many managers, but he made me and my family really feel at home, even when we had problems he stopped in the hotel till they were fixed, een paid out of his own pockets when the hotel tuk tuk did not come. The hotel is old, some rooms very old, but there is alot of love from the staff all of them, i was sorry to leave it. We had booked a day tour, but due to mixed up we were to late, the manager not only got our money back, but took us out in a longtail boat free of charge. Also rin at reception, my kids were so sad to leave her, as she made such a fuss of them every day. The staff are not the fastest, but they are the most friendly and they mean it, we could learn alot of these two people in europe

    Good price, great value

As member of un i travel alot, used to stop in this hotel years ago, this time many changes, all for better new outside bar with normal music, open 24 hours, for light snacks, with pool table and tv. all rooms now have wooden floor and bathrooms are being upgraded. Rooms are old fashion, but clean, for the price this hotel is good value, close to khoasan road, lot of new staff, all very very friendly, standard of english is not great. Food is quite cheap and very good value, outdoor pool clean, with enought chairs. New western manager

    Nice hoel

This hotel bears its years with grace! we felt like in a luxury hotel, although it was the cheapest out of five different hotels around thailand that we used. A stylish lobby. We were greeted with fresh orange juice when we approached the front desk for checking in. They seem to renovate little-by-little to preserve the charm while keeping it up-to-date in facilities. a few disadvantages: rather heavy traffic nearby. The front room overlooked a courtyard with trees and the car entrance and the pool behind a wooden fence. very attentive staff talking good english. We got a very nice suggestion of a tour on our own with boats and skytrain. excellent breakfast buffet that was replenished even at the formal closing time. the hotel has a free tuk-tuk service to the nearby night market and to one of the piers, but only to wait about 5 minutes both times for departure.

    Good place to stay

We stoped with my family, they had rooms ready with extra beds when we check in, staff very nice, english of staff very poor, but manager, helped us with any problems, rooms alittle tired, but spotless. Free pool party with free drinks and food, location, good, easy to get to with taxi to anywhere in city for 80 baht. Food in hotel very good and alot of diferent food at breakfast. Also went on free trip at night in vintages cars, rolls royce to see the lights of the kings birthday, were invited special by manager, this hotel is amust for peopel on budget, but want good and friendly service

    We will stop there again

Liked the hotel, was worried as it was so cheap, when we got there it was really nice, great staff, free fruit basket in room, free tuk tuk service, and free bike rental. Breakfast was buffet style, always alot of food and very hot. Minus points stand of english not great, but new operations manage spoke great english, dutch, helped us with any problems, also they have gotten rid of the rip off taxi drivers that use to be there and now have their own travel desk, they booked us on 3 tours and they only charge 50 baht on top of the normal charge for thier service. Good staff, dont book atour anywhere but there, as they really help you, only minus point rooms abit old, but very clean and if have any problems they help straght away

    Great hotel low price

I stayed in this hotel last week oct 2006,there are now new owners. The staff are some of the most friendly, i have ever meet in any star hotel. The hotel is abit old but very clean, thay have agood cafe where you can eat at local prices, (abit of a change for a hotel)staffs english is not that great, but they have operations manager jon, who speaks dutch and english very well and he helps with anything you may need. Also outdoor pool which is very clean, free bicycle rental an free tuk tuk service that runs when ever you need it, it saves alot of money for me and my family. In short agreat place to stay
