Average user rating  Write a new review  Review by adam  sad, i will miss this place i was really looking forward to smoking at the macchu picchu on my trip this past new year's, but was a bit sad to see that it has been replaced by a bush doctor. this new place was pretty cool, with some good jack herer, but lacked the atmosphere of the old place. the guy working was friendly, and actually sat down and talked to me, as there was no one else in the place. i'll be back when i visit again in october, but again, the macchu picchu will be missed. I had a good time at the bar the first time we went, although we were the only ones there. The next time we went the barmaid was a real ass, so it kinda sucked. However we returned a third time and it was a pretty laid back fun time with good reggae playing. Overall the weed was not the best but was cool none the less. Review by Sue Happy Memories I am lucky enough to go to the 'dam most years. I always visit Machu Picchu because it has all the qualities of Amsterdam that I enjoy. The view from the street is pure 'dam,and it is across the road from single canal and the flower market.The erratic opening hours can be very trying.Good place to go if you want ease your way in to the 'dam lifestyle,enjoy! Review by Adam  Comfortable place to smoke I visited Amsterdam for the first time over the 1998/99 New Year's holiday, and I was very glad to find the Machu Picchu. Good coffee, good weed, though I did smoke a lot of better stuff at other places, and a nice atmosphere. The woman was very friendly, always greeting you when you come and when you go. The shrooms were pretty good too, and the space cake was tasty, but didn't really do much. I visited the place daily, in the morning and before retiring to the hotel, for a good smoke and a cup of tea. I look forward to stopping in when I returm in the summer. Review by a Visitor Really liked this place I've been there several times over the years, and always found the mood mellow -- a nice change from the acid rock-themed, bar-like coffee shops around town. The guy working there was always nice, and played good reggae music. Liked the mood and the location, right on the water. The hours seemed a little erratic but it was worth the occasional disappointment. Review by a Visitor This place sucked 1/19/99 This place sucked. The guy was unfriendly and almost rude. They don't keep regular hours, so don't try to meet anyone there. The orange juice was not fresh as advertised. The weed looked decent but if he won't tell you about it, what's the point! They only sell in 2 gram packets. I did not like machu-pichu. |
