Pink Floyd Dampkring is Super June 2007

Madelon, the sprite behind the snackbar who has rapidly made me feel welcome there, told me that she had been an employee of the original coffeeshop, and that about half the current staff were. I had never been to the old Pink Floyd, so cannot compare. The clientele are a mix of locals speaking Dutch and tourists or expats from Amerika, UK, Romania, Italy; a lot of different people cruise through. I enjoy the tosties, there's a good selection of drinks, and Special Cake (moist, delicious). Most people are familiar with the huge smoking menu the Dampkring shops maintain, with a great selection of sativas, indicas, and hash. It is a cheerful place, but mind your step. There are moderate stairs if you want to use the computers (up one flight, 1€/20 min) or for more casual couch seating in the back room. There is a third level with more seating. The staff are upbeat and friendly. Pink Floyd is open until midnight. The weed queue can sometimes inconveniently block the direct path to the WC. I find it to be a welcoming shop in a great location, with a polite and devoted staff. When they are very busy, give them some time, the total quality of experience is worthwhile.

    Favorite place

I love this coffeeshop and am so sad its been sold to the Damkring. The staff was the most accomadating and the product is wonderful. Had a great New Years Eve party Dec 2006. I will miss you all!
